PREPARATION
Necklace
  1. Cut a 9cm length of silver wire and curl one end into a small tight spiral. Thread a flat-sided lozenge, a purple glass bead and an 8mm fire-polished bead onto the wire. Create a large ring in the end of the wire using round-nosed pliers and hook this onto a red ring as you do so. Trim any excess wire.
  2. Take two more 9cm sections of wire and bend a large ring in the end of each to fit onto the red ring. Thread the wires with an 8mm firepolished bead, a purple glass bead and a flat sided lozenge before forming a loop in the end of each wire. Cut a 7cm piece of chain and using jump rings, hook each end to the two loops that you have just made.
  3. Thread a purple glass bead, a red pebble and a 6mm firepolished bead each onto two eye pins. Create a loop in the ends and trim any excess. Attach the loops nearest the purple glass beads to the jump rings holding the 7cm piece of chain in place.
  4. Cut the remaining chain in half and hook each piece to the ends of the beaded eye pins with jump rings. Add a jump ring and clasp to connect the loose ends of the chain together.
  5. Lay the necklace out on a flat surface. Place nine dots of glue around the circumference of the red ring and down the top facing side of each lozenge. Apply a domed crystal to each glue dot. Carefully turn each lozenge and add crystals to the other faces. Allow to dry.
HOW TO MAKE
Earrings
  1. Cut a 12cm length of silver wire and shape one end into a small, tight spiral. Thread a purple glass bead onto the wire and hold it against a red ring so that the bead falls in the centre.
  2. Whilst continuing to hold the wire in position, pass the long end through the ring and pull the wire back up so that it is tightly wrapped around it. Add a red pebble, a purple glass bead and an 8mm firepolished bead onto the wire, trim the end to 1cm and form a loop using round-nosed pliers.
  3. Cut a 3cm section of wire and bend one end into a small tight spiral. Thread a 6mm firepolished bead onto the wire, form a loop in the end and trim any excess. Attach an 8cm length of mini belcher chain to this using a jump ring and repeat this step to make a second bead dangle.
  4. Carefully unwind the base of an earwire using roundnosed pliers and remove the bead. Replace with a 6mm fire-polished bead and bend the ear hook back into shape so that it holds the crystal in place and resembles its original form.
  5. Link the loose ends of the dangle chain together with a single jump ring and attach this to the loop of the earwire and main earring. Lay the earring flat and add 11 dots of glue around the circumference of the red ring. Position a domed crystal onto each dot and allow to dry. Repeat to make a pair.
