INGREDIENTS
Materials
  • Wire: 50cm – 1mtr (the longer the better)
  • 18 x pearl beads
  • 38-40 x 4mm silk Swarovski
  • 20 – 24 4mm opal Swarovski
Tools
  • Flat-nose pliers
HOW TO MAKE
  1. To start off, cut a long length of wire, 50cm – 1mtr (the longer the better), start from the middle of the tiara band make a few wraps to secure the wire with the shorter length, make a bend in the long length of the wire about 5 or 6cm from the band taking into account that this is the centre piece (the length is optional to suit your style)
  2. Place your first bead onto the wire let it fall into the bend, pinch the bead in one hand the wire in the other and gently start to twist until it is complete, be careful not to over twist it may snap. You may find it easier to hold the tiara band with the flat nose pliers at the base if the wire and twist the bead with your hand.
  3. Wrap the long wire around the band 2 or 3 times and add another bead the same as before. You want to angle the beads to start high from the middle and smaller as you get the end
  4. Carry on adding beads, when you run out of wire, just start again by adding new wire simply secure it with a few wraps covering the join which you can flatten with the flat nose pliers.
  5. Once you have completed both sides you can add more beads to fill out the tiara. You can use the 4mm Swarovski to fill out around the Tiara making sure that you have enough left over for the base (check out the amount in step 6 )
  6. To wrap the beads around the base use the Swarovski 4mm and the fresh water pearls, cut a long piece of wire start from the middle secure the wire with a few wraps, thread on your first bead (alternate the beads) place it flat against the band and wrap the wire around and in-between the other beads. This hides any joins on the band. For this design I have used 18 x pearls and 18 x 4mm silk Swarovski around the front and then alternate with the 4mm opal Swarovski to finish off at the ends, in total I used 38-40 silk Swarovski and 20 – 24 Opal 4mm. (this is only a guide as your design may be different)
  7. When you have reached the other side ,cut of the excess wire and pinch it with the flat nose pliers.
